Our opinion: The oldest and most traditional hotel in this category at beach avenida in Copacabana, international flair. We recommend to use pool view or ocean front, standard have internal view and some of them are smaller.

Our opinion: Partially renovated hotel, good location at beach avenida in Copacabana, most of standard rooms do not have sea view

Our opinion: The best hotel in this category at beach avenida in Copacabana, international standard, open end of 97, even better than some 5*-Hotel, all rooms of the superior category have partial view from the side (not ocean front) to the ocean. We recommend to use superior rooms, standard have internal view and some of them are smaller.

Our opinion: The best 4*-hotel in Rio, opened August 99, about 250m to beach road, international standard. We recommend using superior category, standard rooms are partiellay with internal view and smaller.

Our opinion: Partially renovated hotel, new elevators, new lobby, goodlocation at beach avenida in Copacabana, rooms of different quality

Our opinion: Very good location – only a few minutes from the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, good middle class hotel.
Hotel Vilamar Copacabana (4*): 70 rooms with air-conditioning, phone,tv, radio, minibar, safe. Restaurant, pool, bar.
Our opinion: New hotel (2002), middle-class, clean, only about 200m from the beach road. Nice eqipped rooms. Small pool on the roof top. Small lobby-bar and area.
Hotel Copacabana Rio (4*): 76 rooms with air-conditioning, phone,tv, minibar, safe. Restaurant, pool, sauna, bar.
Our opinion: Good tourist class, partially renovated, only about 100m from the beach road of Copacabana and only a few minutes to Ipanema. Small pool on the roof top with beautiful view to Copacabana and Ipanema.

Hotel Augustos (4*): 103 rooms with air-conditioning, phone,tv, radio, minibar, safe. Restaurant, pool, fitness-center, sauna, bar.
Our opinion: New hotel (1998), middle-class, clean, only about 200m from the beach road. Good sized, but simple equipped rooms. Small pool on the roof top. Small lobby-bar and fitnesscenter. Just one social elevator and one service elevator.
Hotel Atlantis (3*): 87 rooms with airconditioning, Minibar, TV, safe, phone, Bar, Sauna, Pool
Our opinion: Very good location – only a few minutes from the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, beautiful view from pool, partially renovated, good tourist class.
Hotel Royalty (4*): 143 rooms with air-conditioning, phone,tv, radio, minibar, safe. Restaurant, pool, bar.
Our opinion: Renovated in ´98, good middle class hotel, location not that good.
BUZIOS
Pousada Vila Boa Vida : 35 Zimmer with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar,safe. Pool, Restaurant.
Our opinion: Very nice bungalow rooms, about 10 minutes from the beach on a hill located. To go out, a taxi is needed.
Pousada Barlavento: 25 rooms with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar,safe. Pool, Restaurant.
Our opinion: Very nice area on a hill with beautiful view, about 10 minutes to the beach.
Pousada Barla Inn: 14 Zimmer with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Bar, safe. Pool.
Our opinion: Simple Pousada, basic structure, central location, just 5 minutes to the center (shopping road) , 02 minutes to the beach.
PARATY

Our opinion: Nice colonial building from century XVIII with an internal garden. Some rooms and also the breakfast room are outside of the main building.
Pousada Marquesa: 28 rooms with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar, Pool
Our opinion: Traditional house of century XVIII.
Pousada do Principe: 34 rooms with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar, Pool
Our opinion:Nice Pousada and good priced. Not inside the old part, but just 100m away.
IGUASSU
Hotel Das Cataratas (4*): 87 rooms with airconditioning/heating, Minibar, TV, safe, phone, Bar, Pool, Restaurants, Tennis
Our opinion: Unic location directly at the falls. Very nice colonial ambiente. Most of rooms do not have free sight to falls, due to trees. Damages in rooms due to humid climate are obvious.
Hotel Bourbon Resort & Convention Iguassu (5*): 311 rooms with air conditioning, safe, minibar, TV, Telefon. Bar, Restaurant, Sauna, sala de jogos, pool.
Our opinion: Best hotel in Iguassu, but not in the National Park located. Modern building.
Hotel Golf & Resort (5*): 72 rooms with airconditioning/heating, Minibar, TV, safe, phone, Bar, Pool, Restaurant, Tennis,Sauna, fishing, golf course 18 holes
Our opinion:Located with separate small buildings within the green area about 200 m from the main building and breakfast room. Quiet, but also a bit far from the main road. Nice equipped rooms. The management offers golf car service to take guests to the breakfast room and back if wished so.
Hotel Falls Galli (4*): 80 rooms with brazilian double bed size 1,40x2,00, TV, Minibar, Phone, Safe, acess to Internet and with air conditioning. 14 rooms with double bed size 2,00x2,00, TV, Minibar, Phone, Safe, access to Internet, air conditioning and jaccuzzi tub. Restaurant, pool, bar and coffee shop, room service 24 hours, games room, laundry, conventions room.
Our opinion: Centrally located hotel in downtown city. Perfect for short stays or for business matters.

Our opinion: Large hotel area, partially renovated. Due to humid climate rooms suffer small marks on furniture.
Hotel Panorama (4*): 150 rooms with airconditioning, Minibar, TV, safe, phone, Bar, Pool, Restaurant, 130.000 qm park
Our opinion: Colourful hotel with tropical flair, partially renovated, nice pool and garden aerea. Room furniture suffers small marks due to humid climate.
SALVADOR
Hotel Tropical Da Bahia (5*): 275 rooms with air-conditioning, safe, Minibar, Pool, Restaurant, Bar, Phone, TV.
Our opinion: Good middleclass hotel, central location in Salvador. Upper town, not far from historical part. Most used for tour series from all over the world. Best hotel in this category and location in this city. Would need some renovations.
Pestana Bahia (5*): 410 rooms with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar, Restaurants, Pool.
Our opinion: Beautifully located at the coast line, nice pool, shuttle service to next beach, recently totally renovated.
Porto Farol (4*): 37 rooms with air-conditioning, balcony, Minibar, kitchen, TV, Tel, safe
Our opinion: Nice, familiar small hotel, 5 minutes to the beach. Each appt is equipped with sleeping room, small living and kitchen.
Hotel Monte Pascoal Praia (4*): 77 rooms with air-conditioning, safe, Minibar, Pool, Sauna, Restaurant, Bar, Phone, TV.
Our opinion: Totally renovated (2001), all rooms with sea view, about 10 minutes by taxi to center.
Grande Hotel da Barra (3*): 55 rooms with air-conditioning, phone, safe, Minibar, TV. Pool, Restaurant, Bar.
Our opinion: Partially renovated, good tourist class, directly at Barra bay with very good swimming beach, by taxi only five minutes to center.
Hotel Catussaba (4*): 133 rooms with air-conditioning, Phone, Radio, TV, safe, Pool, Lobby-bar, Restaurant, Sauna, Playground, Carpark.
Our opinion:
Good location with a nice pool and direct access to the beach. Standard rooms are away from the sea/pool and most of them have no view to the pool or beach. The currents of the ocean are very strong as in most places in Salvador, therefore it is not advisable to go far in for swimming. Beautiful View from the pool area. Due to new constructions too many rooms in relation to social area.
Hotel Praia do Forte Resort (5*): 200 rooms with air-conditioning, phone, radio, TV, safe, pool, lobby-bar, restaurant.
Our opinion: Good resort, lots of space, nice area and sports equipments.

Our opinion:Centrally located, good service, partially renovated.

Our opinion:Located outside of center in the suburb of Contagem, belongs to the Hilton-Group, good middle class, good service, spacious rooms.

Our opinion: quite new hotel (1995), spacious rooms, centrally located, quite noisy aera, good service.
OURO PRETO
Pousada Mondego: 24 rooms with Minibar, safe, TV, Phone.
Our opinion: Tradional Hotel in the old colonial style. Most beautiful of its kind. Right near the center of the old town. Different room sizes, some rooms below the roof. Besides another hotel which is more modern build, best choice in Ouro Preto.
Pousada do Rosario (5*): 37 rooms, safe, Minibar, phone, TV, heating, Restaurant, Bar, Pool, Sauna.
Our opinion: Not right in center (ca. 10 minutes walking), good standard, rooms small, pool small
Pousada Classica (3*): 25 rooms, safe, Minibar, phone, TV, heating, Bar, Sauna.
Our opinion: New Pousada (2000) centrally located, elementary eqipped.
Pousada Colonial (2*): 18 rooms, Minibar, TV, Phone.
Our opinion:Protected building of century XVIII. Very simple small Pousada with basic structure, but good located in the center.

Our opinion:Traditonal 5*Hotel with good service and perfect location.

Our opinion: Best location, right at beach road, partially renovated, traditional house at the main beach.
Mar Recife(4*): 207 rooms with air-conditioning, Minibar, TV, Phone, Bar, Pool
Our opinion: 03 blocks from the beach. Well equipped for business men.
Hotel International Lucsim Palace (4*): 245 rooms with air-conditioning, phone, TV, Minibar, safe, Restaurant, Bar, Pool
Our opinion: Good tourist class hotel, just 50m from beach road. Partially renovated.
LODGES MANAUS
Amazon Village: Two hours by boat via meeting of the waters. 32 Chalets with two double each. Shower, wc.
Our opinion: Traditional Lodge, good service, simple and clean, no AC, no ventilators, even though good natural ventilation, at night no electricity, but very good organized and people usually love it.
Pousada Guanavenas: 76 rooms with air-conditioning, restaurant, pool, central building with restaurant. About 5 hours from Manaus. By AC-bus about 3 ½ hours and by boat another 1 ½ hours. Almost all facilities of a hotel.
Our opinion: Best comfort in lodges around Manaus, to get there takes longer.
LODGE PANTANAL
Pousada Pantanal Mato Grosso: 36 rooms with air conditioning/ventilator and veranda, priv. bath with cold/warm water, restaurant, pool,phone. Boats for fishing and regional horses for rent (extra charge)
Our opinion: Best Lodge in north of the Pantanal – gateway Cuiaba. Good price/quality. Various programs according to climate conditions.
